This small East German pin was issued to members of the People's Navy (Volksmarine). It was worn on the hats of enlisted personal. It can be easily recognized from the variant issued to National People's Army (NVA) ground forces. Which features a silver, instead of gold design. Notably this pin is the pin back version. Which is considered to be lower quality, than the screw back version.
