This East German medal is the Reservist Medal (Reservistenabzeichen). Formally known as the "Medal For Faithful Service in the National People's Army Reserve". This medal was awarded for honorably serving 18-24 months, in the National People's Army (NVA). The front features a NVA soldier and translates to "Reservist of the National People's Army. While the reverse features the Emblem of the DDR, with the motto, "For the Protection of the Workers and Farmers' Power". The medal is made of bronze.
