This Mexican banknote represents the 2nd denomination of the First Peso Series AA (sub-series LI), printed by the American Bank Note Company. The observe features a portrait of a young Algerian woman, in traditional dress. In Mexico her image is popularly known as "La Gitana", the gypsy. The reverse features the Monumento a la Independencia ("Monument to Independence"), in Mexico City. (Note Size: 157 x 68 mm or 6.18 x 2.68 in)
